Health
There are many web sites that contain a great deal of information about health issues in Scottish Terriers.
Some of the diseases are listed below.
We recommend visiting either the CSTC or the STCA to obtain the latest details on a condition.
It should be understood that responsible breeding, which includes knowing the problem(s) that one of the breeding twosome may carry, goes a long way in eliminating or perpetuating a disease. If a Scottie is known to carry the gene for a given problem, that dog shouldn't be used in a breeding program. Proper veterinarian testing can determine most of these issues.
For information, click on either the CSTC, STCA or the CGD to take you to one of their web sites, or search the web to review other articles.
